From ether-soluble neutral fraction of the whole plant of Peperomia pellucida (L) HBK (Piperaceae), 4,7-dimethoxy-5-(2-propenyl)-l, 3-benzodioxole or apiol, in a liquid state, 2,4,5-trimethoxy styrene, mp 138o, and three phytosterols, campesterol, stigmasterol and beta-sitosterol, were isolated and characterized by spectral data.
